Who We Are.
Learn to surf in Newcastle, NSW with the professional coaching staff from Newcastle Surfest Surf School. Established in 2014, we are a licensed ASI surf school, teaching surf lessons to children and adults from Nobbys and surrounding beaches in Newcastle, NSW. All our coaching staff are local surfers who love surfing. All staff are qualified Instructors and are accredited in Senior First Aid, CPR, APOLA and current NSW working with children checks. We offer group surf lessons, private surf lessons, school sports, birthday/corporate parties, and kids after school and school holiday programs.
What We Offer.
Private Surf Lessons
Private surf coaching or your own private group lesson! All surf lessons are run for 80 minutes with all equipment provided. Run from Nobbys Beach, Newcastle. For ages 5 and above. Buy 4 lessons get 1 free & get your surfing off to a great start with private coaching!

Group Surf Lessons
Group 80 minute surf lessons. For ages 13 years and older. All equipment is provided and run from Nobbys Beach, Newcastle. Buy 4 surf lessons get 1 free. Try surfing with your friends in a group and have some fun learning to surf with our expert coaching!
Kids Surf Programs
The kids learn to surf programs are specially designed to make learning about beach safety and how to surf - fun, safe and easy. These programs are run at the safest beach in Newcastle - Nobbys Beach! For ages 5-12yrs old.
Primary and Secondary School Surfing
Surfing for school sport and surfing excursions for primary and secondary school children.
Weekly school sport lessons
School excursions and day events
Regional and remote school group surfing
School participants learn about ocean safety and awareness while keeping active and learning a new skill.
We accept sporting schools grants through Sports Australia for all our school group programs.
Indigenous Surf Lessons
Free Indigenous youth surf lessons run weekly throughout Term 1 and Term 4 of the school year. 80 minute lessons with all equipment provided. Spaces are limited. Contact us to secure your spot.
